With over 20 years in the industry, Nick Melillo of Foundation Cigar Company has gained extensive knowledge from his time working for Drew Estate and traveling the world seeking out everything he could possibly learn about tobacco. Since starting his own company in 2015, Nick continues to pump out boutique blends that are high quality, consistent, flavorful, and balanced.

What is Olmec? Named for the civilization that once predated the Mayans and Aztecs, this full-bodied blend celebrates the San Andres leaf native to the lands of the former Olmec tribes in Southern Mexico. To create such a flavorful blend, Nick specifically chose to feature specially selected Nicaraguan fillers from Esteli and Jalapa that have been aged for 3 years before being used in production. These fillers tobaccos are then bound in a Nicaraguan binder and wrapped in either a Mexican San Andres Negro leaf or a Mexican San Andres Claro leaf. The San Andres Negro leaf is slightly more powerful than the Claro version, but both offer a variety of tasting notes like cacao, espresso, and spice that remain balanced.
