Alfonso Gran Seleccion
What sets Alfonso Gran Seleccion apart is the aging process. Each cigar is aged five years post-rolling. From there, the cigars are aged for a time in five separate cedar-lined rooms. Each room is lined with a different type of cedar (Cuban, Spanish, Brazilian, Mexican, and Lebanese). According to the manufacturer, the cigars are “forced to breath in the cedar notes by lowering and raising the humidity to allow the cigar to cleanse itself.”
The blend itself is packed with Dominican and Nicaraguan tobacco that is encased inside an exotic Peruvian binder that adds a bit of spice to the blend. The recipe is then topped with an Ecuadorian wrapper. Expect a smooth, medium to full-bodied cigar. Rich and balanced, you’ll get notes of chocolate, espresso, and French oak.
