The My Father Connecticut Cigar received an epic 90-rating from Cigar Aficionado magazine in the February 2015 issue!
This is My Father Cigars first cigar brand featuring an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed wrapper who were originally known as having full bodied cigars by master blender, Jose "Pepin" Garcia. The My Father Connecticut blend features a Connecticut-seed wrapper grown in Ecuador, a Corojo '99 binder from Nicaragua and a Nicaraguan filler blend from Habano and Criollo leaf. "It truly is the one cigar that was missing in our lineup," said My Father Cigars vice president Janny Garcia to Cigar Aficionado. "It is absolutely a mild cigar but definitely full-flavored. We have been asked to have a Connecticut shade in our portfolio for a long time and we believe this is the right time to do it." Right before you light up a My Father's Connecticut cigar, you'll smell the sweet aromas of buttery richness and hints of earthy notes. Once the cigar is lit, you'll indulge in the taste of creaminess, nutty, richness, white pepper, and hints of honey making this cigar a complex flavored cigar that any cigar smoker will truly appreciate. My Father Cigars released a statement on their website explaining, “My Father Connecticut is going to be an extension of the already existing line My Father and My Father Le Bijou; the cigar is blended by Jose “Pepin” Garcia and his son Jaime Garcia at the My Father Cigar Factory in Nicaragua. It features an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, Nicaragua Corojo ‘99 Binder and Nicaragua Habano-Criollo filler, all the tobacco coming out of the Garcia’s farms with the exception of the wrapper which comes from Ecuador. This cigar also features a very unique aromatic leaf that gives the cigar aromas and flavors; a special fermentation process was given to this particular type of tobacco in order for it to release all the aromas and flavors that the Garcia's were looking for to finish the last touch of this blend.”
