Solera is an aging method that has been used for centuries by those in the wine and spirits industry, most commonly in wine, sherry, rum, and brandy. For the first time in history Rafael and his team introduced this method to the aging and blending process of cigars. The process itself is a process of combining different vintages of tobacco at different stages of the aging process; the outcome is a fuller flavor and more complex flavor from the tobacco itself.
